Erin MacLennan
Football

Profile
Age: 16
Erin started playing football at the age of six attending Mr Mike Knight’s Saturday Soccer at Lympne along with her younger brother. She continued to play there until Mike recommended that she look to join a team and develop further. Hawkinge Youth offered Erin a place and she played there from U10 up until U16 with the majority of the team staying together from those early years.
Erin and the girls moved across to Folkestone Invicta prior to the 2015/16 season to play at U18 and had a great first season winning the League Division 2 title and making the final of the KGLFL Cup where they finished runners up. This season also saw Erin play for Kent Football United in the Capital League competing with teams such as Watford, Charlton Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur to name a few. The standard of football was higher and helped her develop further as a player.
In April 2016 Erin was invited along to train with the Crystal Palace Development Squad and impressed from the outset and successfully attended a number of trials before being offered a place in the Development A squad bypassing the U18. Erin made her competitive debut for the Crystal Palace Dev A against Queens Park Rangers in the Greater London Women’s Premier League, impressing in a 3-3 draw and being named player of the match. Erin has now established her place in the team and is a regular starter playing as a left wing back.
Although football is Erin’s first love she is a keen all-round sportswoman- enjoying running, cricket and netball and also attaining a Junior Black Belt in Karate at the age of 13.
