Moving Forward Together

We are really excited to launch our brand new project, “Moving Forward Together”, helping more local people into employment. We’ve been working in partnership with Folkestone Job Centre to ensure that being part of Moving Forward Together will be approved and recognised by your Work Coach.

If you are living in East Folkestone and currently looking for employment, please read on…

Matt & Emily, the Moving Forward Together team.

This is not your bog-standard recruitment programme. Moving Forward Together‘s ethos is centred around being more active. We know how moving more and playing sport can help with your confidence, self-esteem and overall wellbeing – as well as building on key employability skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership and resilience.

Free sport & exercise makes up the first 13 weeks of Moving Forward Together – where you can be active however you choose: using the gym; playing a sport of your choice; or going for a walk.

We also provide free lunch every week – because there’s nothing better than free food and chatting as a group over lunch!

Emily & Matt, who will be around every week, will get you booked onto a free Edexcel-accredited employability course with Twin Training. The course lasts between 1 and 2 weeks and looks directly at the skills which employers are looking for. After the course, you’ll feel ready to start applying for new jobs and confident as you start landing your first few interviews.

The support doesn’t end there. Even once you’ve qualified, we’d love to see you at one of Shepway Sports Trust’s weekly sport and exercise sessions… ranging from badminton to yoga to football!

If you’re currently looking for employment, or know somebody who is, we would love to speak to you. Please contact us or call 01303 764261 and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our first group of the new year will meet on 13th January 2020.
