The ‘Learn Assist & Earn’ programme is for 16- 25 year olds and provides the opportunity to gain skills like sports coaching, administration, marketing and sports development- all by observing and supporting qualified sports coaches at sessions.

Sessions are based either in a school, community or club setting within Shepway and all offer a different experience with unique opportunities and challenges. These sessions will help develop your understanding and knowledge of being adaptable in different scenarios.

Not only are you learning practically, LAE will support you with qualifications and training in areas you feel most passionately about developing. You’ll be gaining practical and theoretical knowledge to help you achieve your goals. This assistance may be in the form of a course, workshop or activator training: we can also offer bursaries towards recognised coaching qualifications.

Within LAE there is the opportunity that you once you are qualified you have the chance to access paid coaching work. This may be in either an existing session or SST can help you to set up your own session.

LAE can be completed over any period of time to allow you to work the programme around your other commitments, going at your own pace to help you develop.

By volunteering you will receive the following benefits:

  • Discounted hall hire rates and discounted gym membership at Three Hills Sports Park.
  • SST clothing, merchandise, and access to volunteer recognition events.
  • Access to workshops, activator training and qualifications.
